Refund and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains when and how a client can cancel a project and receive a refund on JubalBoard. It is part of the JubalBoard Terms and Conditions and should be read with the payment, escrow, and dispute terms presented through the platform.

This policy works inside JubalBoard's escrow flow. Because a client's money remains in escrow until work is approved, refunds before release are generally more straightforward, while cases after release are handled through the dispute process. Mandatory rights under applicable law continue to apply.
1. How Escrow Shapes Refunds
On JubalBoard, a client funds a project up front into escrow, and the money is not paid to the creative until the work is approved or automatically approved. Before funds are released, a refund is usually straightforward. After release, money is returned only through the dispute process. The stage of the project determines what happens.
2. Cancelling Before Work Begins
If a project is cancelled by mutual agreement before the creative has started work, the client receives a full refund of the escrowed amount. The JubalBoard fee is not retained in this case because no work was delivered.
3. Cancelling After Work Has Started
If work has started, the client and creative can agree to cancel and settle a fair amount for the work completed so far. That amount is released to the creative, with the remainder refunded to the client. If they cannot agree, either side can raise a dispute, and the escrow is divided according to the dispute and escrow reconciliation rules.
4. Non-Delivery or Failure by the Creative
If a creative fails to deliver, abandons the project, or delivers work that does not meet what was agreed, the client can raise a dispute. Where the dispute is resolved in the client's favor, the escrowed funds are refunded in full or in part, as determined under the dispute rules.
5. Approved and Completed Work
Once a client approves a deliverable, or it is automatically approved under the applicable payment and escrow terms, the work is treated as accepted and the funds are released to the creative. Approved and completed work is generally not refundable because the creative has delivered and been paid. Genuine issues discovered after approval are handled case by case under the dispute rules.
6. How the JubalBoard Fee Is Treated
Where a project is cancelled before any work, the twenty percent fee is not charged. Where a project is partly completed or resolved through a dispute, the fee is applied to the amount actually released to the creative, in line with the outcome. Third-party payment processing costs already incurred may not be recoverable, and we will tell the client where that applies.
7. Milestones
On milestone projects, refunds apply to milestones that have not yet been released. A milestone that has already been approved and paid follows the rule for completed work, while unreleased milestones can be cancelled and refunded as described above.
8. How and When Refunds Are Paid
Refunds are returned to the original payment method through the payment provider used for the original transaction, including Stripe or Flutterwave where applicable. The time for a refund to appear depends on the provider and the client's bank. Currency conversion and provider fees on the original payment may not be fully recoverable.
9. Subscriptions
Any paid subscription, such as a premium creator plan, is governed by the applicable subscription terms, which set out whether and how subscription fees are refunded. This policy covers project payments, not subscriptions.
10. Chargebacks
If you believe you are owed a refund, contact us first so we can try to resolve it quickly through the platform. Reversing a payment directly with your bank, known as a chargeback, is handled under the applicable chargeback rules and can be slower and more restrictive than working with us.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the platform and the law change. We will post the new version with an updated effective date.
